ER's Noah Wyle, 31, and his wife, Tracy, 34, a former makeup artist, welcomed a son, Owen Strausser, on Nov. 9 in L.A. It's the first child for the couple, who wed in May 2000....

Dixie Chick Emily Robison, 30, gave birth to son Charles Augustus on Nov. 11 in San Antonio. Charles is the first child for Robison and her husband, singer-songwriter Charlie, 38.

Expecting
20/20 coanchor John Miller, 44, and former teacher Emily Altschul, 36, are expecting a baby girl in May. The couple plan to wed this month.

Split
After three years of marriage, actress Molly Ringwald, 34, now starring in Broadway's Cabaret, filed for divorce from French novelist Valery Lameignère earlier this month in Manhattan, citing "cruel and inhuman treatment."

Arrested
Actor Joshua Jackson, 24, who plays Pacey on Dawson's Creek, was arrested on Nov. 9 and charged with assault and drunk and disorderly conduct after allegedly punching a security guard at a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game in Raleigh, N.C. Jackson, who spent the night in jail, had no comment. He is due in court on Dec. 4....

On Nov. 7 in Atlanta, R&B singer Bobby Brown, 35, was charged with marijuana possession, speeding and driving without a license. After posting $1,500 bond he was taken to a nearby DeKalb county court on an outstanding warrant stemming from 1996 traffic charges. Brown, the husband of pop diva Whitney Houston, spent two months in prison in 2000 for violating probation on a drunk driving conviction.

Law & Order
On Nov. 12 in Manhattan, Spider-Man creator Stan Lee, 80, filed a $10 million lawsuit against Marvel Entertainment, alleging that the comic-book company he once worked for is cheating him out of profits from the Spider-Man feature film. Lee, who also created the Incredible Hulk and Daredevil, among others, claims he is entitled to 10 percent of any profits from his characters. A statement from Marvel said that Lee is "well-compensated."

Deaths
Margaret "Peg" Phillips, 84, who played sharp-tongued shopkeeper Ruth-Anne on TV's Northern Exposure in the early '90s, died of lung disease on Nov. 7 near Seattle. Phillips, a retired accountant who started acting classes at age 65, also guest-starred on other popular series including ER....

Actor Merlin Santana, 26, who played a high school student on The Steve Harvey Show, was shot to death on Nov. 9 while sitting in a parked car in L.A. Santana, who also had a recurring role on NBC's The Cosby Show, appeared in this year's Eddie Murphy movie Showtime. Police have yet to determine a motive for the attack....

Johnny Griffith, 66, a pioneering keyboardist who as a member of the Funk Brothers helped define the Motown sound and played on many 1960s hits, including Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," died of a heart attack on Nov. 10 in Detroit. Griffith had been promoting Standing in the Shadows of Motown, a new documentary focusing on the Funk Brothers.
