Seven-time Wimbledon champ Pete Sampras, 31, and his wife of two years, actress Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (The Wedding Planner), 28, welcomed their first child, son Christian Charles, on Nov. 21 in L.A. A rep for the actress said that mother and baby "are happy and healthy."
...Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell, 27, and his wife, Leighanne, 33, an actress, had a son, Baylee Thomas Wylee, on Nov. 26 in Atlanta. It's the first child for the couple.
Arrested
Rapper-actress Queen Latifah, 32, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving on Nov. 20 in North Hollywood, Calif. Police stopped the Grammy winner, who'll next be seen in the movie musical musical Chicago (due out Dec. 27), for making an unsafe lane change on a freeway. The performer's rep could not be reached for comment.
I Do!
Eighties pop princess Sheena Easton, 43, wed Beverly Hills plastic surgeon John Minoli, 44, at Las Vegas City Hall on Nov. 9. The couple had been dating for three years. It's the first marriage for Minoli and the fourth for Easton, who currently stars in a stage show at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Ailing
Actress Frances Bay, 83, suffered a head injury and multiple abrasions, broke both legs and had part of her right leg amputated after she was struck by a car while crossing a street in L.A. on Nov. 23. The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle wasn't hurt, and no charges have been filed against him. Bay played Adam Sandler's grandmother in 1996's Happy Gilmore and also had a memorable role as the "marble rye" lady on Seinfeld. She is in critical condition.
Recuperating
'N Sync singer Justin Timberlake, 21, broke his foot while in London. The pop star was rehearsing for several upcoming British television performances on Nov. 15 when, according to his rep, he "came down wrong" on his foot. Timberlake will be out of commission for two weeks but plans to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on Dec. 9 in Las Vegas....
German model Claudia Schiffer, 32, broke three bones in her foot after part of a fireplace fell on her at a Nov. 17 party in London. Schiffer, who is expecting her first child with film-producer husband Matthew Vaughn, 31, in January, had surgery on the foot and is expected to make a full recovery.
Deaths
Songwriter Buddy Kaye, 84, who during a six-decade career published more than 400 tunes, including the 1945 Perry Como hit "Till the End of Time," died of undisclosed causes on Nov. 21 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Kaye, who also wrote for Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow, cowrote the theme song for the 1960s TV show I Dream of Jeannie....
Actor Parley Baer, 88, who was best known for playing the mayor on The Andy Griffith Show, died of complications from a stroke on Nov. 22 in Woodland Hills, Calif. Baer also appeared in more than 50 movies, including 1962's Gypsy, and was the voice of the Keebler cookie elf in TV commercials.
