Ashley Scott is having weight issues. But unlike most actresses, the star of The WB's new action series Birds of Prey isn't looking to shed pounds so much as she is to pack a few on. "I was taking tae kwon do and weight training this summer," she explains. "Now I don't have time. If I don't work out, I'll be a stringbean—the skinniest superhero in the world."

The world should be so lucky. As Huntress, the crime-fighting daughter of Batman and Catwoman, Scott, 25, sports not only a fiery attitude but body-hugging leather as well. "God smiled on her," says TV beau Shemar Moore. "And she's fun to work with because she's willing to take risks."

The Metairie, La., native's first big gamble was to quit school at 15 to become a fashion-catalogue model. Parents Joe Scott, 60, a nurse, and Andrea Meister, 54, an administrative assistant, gave their middle child the okay to move to Manhattan, where she shared an apartment with other young models and a chaperone. "Oh, yeah, stick a 15-year-old in New York and try to control them," Scott says. Seven years later she moved to L.A. to try acting. A bit part in 2001's A.I. Artificial Intelligence led to a recurring role on FOX's Dark Angel.

Last spring, just before nabbing Prey, she split up with her boyfriend of nine months, That '70s Show's Ashton Kutcher. "Sometimes you're not quite ready for each other," says Scott, who now cooks for one. "I make biscuits and gravy, pork chops with rice and creamed mushroom soup." So? Eat, stringbean, eat!
