Some fans have started losing patience with HBO's much-acclaimed Mafia drama, carping about too much talk, not enough action. But the concentration on character development, leading to all-out emotional warfare between crime boss Tony (James Gandolfini) and fed-up wife Carmela (Edie Falco), made the fourth season singularly satisfying.
