Air force two: A planely smitten Harrison Ford had a reassuring squeeze for his sweetie Calista Flockhart as they boarded his aircraft at an L.A. airport. According to a source close to the couple, they are inseparable, but engagement rumors are premature, since Ford's divorce from screenwriter Melissa Mathison isn't final. "Calista is old-fashioned and would not like that," says the source.

Ahoy, mate! Russell Crowe got cranked up as he helped the Australian yacht Travelex to a second-place finish in the 226-mile Pittwater-to-Coffs-Harbor race near Sydney. "He did well and spent more hours grinding and trimming the sails than anyone," said the ship's skipper, Ludde Ingvall, who tutored the actor for his upcoming high-seas drama, Master and Commander. After the race Crowe won over landlubber Danielle Spencer (above), his fiancée, who now sports a Cartier engagement ring worth $200,000.

Pop princess Britney Spears and Star Wars queen Natalie Portman joined forces to cohost a New Year's Eve party for 40 friends—including Keri Russell and Sam Rockwell—at Manhattan's Hudson Hotel. The pals met at a listening party in 2001 for Spears's album Britney.

Gwyneth Paltrow and her mom, Blythe Danner (left), browsed for books at Auckland International Airport in New Zealand accompanied by a middleman. The bloke between them is no shallow pal—it's Paltrow's British beau, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin. Three days later the rocker kept her company on the Dunedin, New Zealand, set of Ted and Sylvia (below), a drama which stars Paltrow as poet Sylvia Plath.

Hugh Jackman and his wife, actress Deborra-lee Furness, gave wave reviews after taking their son Oscar, 2, for a Mad Tea Party ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine in the upcoming X-Men sequel, X2.

Barky bark: In Hollywood, Mark Wahlberg gave a lift to a canine friend. The actor just wrapped The Italian Job, a remake of the 1969 caper comedy, costarring Edward Norton and Charlize Theron.

Meanwhile, in Pacific Palisades, Alias star Jennifer Garner and her hubby, actor Scott Foley, unleashed a passion for letting their pooches—Maggie Mae, a beagle mix, and Charlie Rose, a Maltese—roam freely.

The paws that refresh: Even after a bitter custody battle, Pamela Anderson and her ex-hubby, rocker Tommy Lee, were able to bond in L.A. with their son Brandon, 6, and an as-yet-unnamed mutt rescued by the actress from an animal shelter.

Pop star: In L.A., Nicolas Cage buttered up fans by serving popcorn at the premiere of his directorial debut, Sonny.

Steven Seagal showed what the well-red action star is wearing these days as he paid his respects at a temple in Fukuoka, Japan. His next film will be shot in Thailand.

25th Hour star Edward Norton turned peckish while strolling with his girlfriend Salma Hayek and her younger brother Sami, a furniture designer, in Hollywood.
