Trouble
On March 31 actor Robert Conrad, 73, crashed his Jaguar into an oncoming car on a Rancho Paradiso, Calif., highway. Conrad, the star of the 1960s TV classics Wild, Wild West and Baa Baa, Black Sheep (1976), was flown to a Modesto, Calif., hospital, where he was in stable condition in the intensive-care unit. The police report indicated the actor may have been intoxicated. The other driver suffered multiple fractures to his leg. Conrad's rep would only say, "We understand that he is going to be okay."

Actress-director Lisa Pelikan filed for divorce from her husband of 16 years, actor Bruce Davison (X-Men), 56, on March 24 in L.A. The couple have a 7-year-old son, Ethan.
Deaths
Maverick politician Daniel Patrick Moynihan, 76, a New York Democratic senator from 1976 to 2000 and adviser to four Presidents, died in Washington, D.C., on March 26 of complications from a ruptured appendix. Moynihan, the author of 18 books, was popular with lawmakers from both parties for his expertise in welfare issues, transportation, social security and foreign policy. Moynihan was also ambassador to India from 1973 to '75....
Actor Michael Jeter, 50, who won an Emmy for playing a blustery assistant football coach on CBS's Evening Shade from 1990 to 1994, was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on March 30. Jeter was HIV-positive but had been in good health recently. An autopsy has been scheduled. Jeter, who also played Mr. Noodle's brother on Sesame Street, was a Tony Award-winning stage actor and appeared in dozens of movies, including The Green Mile (1999)....
Chinese actor Leslie Cheung, 46, who was best known for his starring roles in the Oscar-nominated Farewell My Concubine (1993) and Happy Together (1997), died after jumping from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong on April 1. Cheung, who was a successful pop star in Hong Kong in the '80s, left a suicide note, but the police did not reveal any details.
