Renée Zellweger is no road warrior. The actress got into a minor fender bender on May 23 while driving in Beverly Hills. She walked away unhurt, but her Porsche had to be towed away from the scene. In other Renée news, here's the scoop on her summer plans: She's going to sit around and get fat. Over the next few months the star will pack on the pounds in order to get ready for the sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary, which begins shooting in September. For the first film Zellweger gained 20 lbs., and she's planning on putting the same amount of weight back on for the follow-up. Helping her along in her caloric quest is a bone spur on her left foot that has kept her from running recently. It has become so painful, in fact, that she's considering surgery. That would keep her off her feet for a couple of weeks.
Pierce Brosnan and his wife, Keely Shaye Brosnan, have a love of everything Hawaiian (they own a home on Kauai). Which is why, for Brosnan's 50th-birthday celebration on May 25, Shaye Brosnan invited 150 friends to a Hawaiian-themed bash at their Malibu mansion. Among the partygoers were John Cusack, Kenny G, Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, as well as neighbors Barbra Streisand and James Brolin. With tiki torches lighting their way, guests wandered from the house to the pool to the beach while feasting on a Polynesian-Asian buffet that featured such foods as coconut shrimp and sushi. The highlight came when a troupe of Hawaiian fire dancers, whom Shaye Brosnan flew in for the party, gave a performance that they capped off by bringing out Brosnan's cake.
On May 20 Jon Voight was having dinner with five friends at L.A.'s Argyle Hotel. Midway through the meal the actor got up and began straightening the paintings on the walls. He was bothered because they were crooked. The manager came over and thanked the star....
