Picks and Pans Review: The Limbic Region

Showtime (Sun., June 30, 8 p.m. ET)

Edward James Olmos stars in this creepy thriller about a cop hunting a serial killer. Unable to prove that a local eccentric (George Dzunda) has been gunning down scads of youths at Lovers' Lane, Olmos stalks his prey for years, ultimately wrecking both of their lives. The cat-and-mouse drama has a film-noir quality, but is weakened by a contrived finale and an absolutely terrible final line. Still, Olmos and Dzunda are excellent.
