It was girls' night out as Jamie Lee Curtis and her daughter Annie Guest, 9 (dad is actor-director-writer Christopher Guest), took in the Los Angeles premiere of Mom's latest movie, House Arrest, a comedy in which Curtis and Kevin Pollak play squabbling parents whose kids ground them until the grownups reconcile. Jamie Lee's mom, movie star Janet Leigh (Psycho), also attended the opening.

Goal-oriented Brad Pitt got his kicks playing a little soccer during a break on the set of his new movie, Devil's Own, currently filming in Inchicore, Ireland. The thriller, due this winter, costars Harrison Ford as a New York City cop who befriends an affable Irish newcomer (played by Pitt), only to discover the young man is a dangerous rebel.

The hills were alive with the sound of "Hallelujah!" when a vacationing Pope John Paul II, 76, hiked in the Dolomite mountains in Italy. He told local villagers that he felt "good, good."

Cotton candy is dandy, as Boston Common stars Tasha Smith and Anthony Clark (above) demonstrated at NBC's press tour in Pasadena, Calif., but a must-see TV series is even better. The two have exactly that in their hit sitcom, while Rob Schneider and Brooke Shields (right)—Brooke, we've got a piano that needs moving—were on hand to hype their new NBC comedies, which premiere in September. Shields stars in Suddenly Susan and Schneider in Men Behaving Badly.

The joint was jumping when Blues Brothers (from left) Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi and John Goodman performed at Atlanta's temporary House of Blues, open only through the Summer Games. Also in town for the Olympics: O.J. Simpson, who took in the women's gymnastics, was interviewed by European TV and signed autographs, while a pumped-up Arnold Schwarzenegger caught the Dream Team's first basketball game. They beat Argentina, 96-68.

A see-worthy Princess Caroline of Monaco cruised the Mediterranean off the southwest coast of Turkey while on vacation with her littlest prince, Pierre, 8 (left, accompanied by a chum), who is fifth in line for Monaco's throne. Also aboard Caroline's Pacha III yacht: daughter Charlotte, 9, and several friends. (Caroline's oldest son, Andrea, 12, is away at summer camp in the U.S.)

A newly divorced Tommy Lee Jones horsed around at the Bridgehampton Polo Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y., with date Dawn Laurel. Jones just finished filming Men in Black, a sci-fi movie that teams him with Will Smith-get this ID4 fans-as two cops tracking aliens. It's due next summer. Natch.
