Michael Jackson fans are delighted their idol has remarried and is about to become a father (PEOPLE, Dec. 2). Others, however, remain skeptical about the self-proclaimed King of Pop's fitness for parenthood.
MICHAEL JACKSON
God bless Michael Jackson, his new wife, Debbie, and his baby. He has undeservingly been subject to constant rumors and biased reporting from the press. Now that a child is involved, I pray Michael's detractors will finally leave him alone and let the man do what only the King of Pop can—create and perform the most beautiful music the world has ever known.

Here we go again. Another one of Michael Jackson's ploys to make himself look normal. If wearing more makeup than your wife is normal, then maybe I'm old-fashioned or my boyfriend is way out of style. First Madonna, now Michael Jackson. Who's next? RuPaul?

Your decision to place on the cover the photos of a suspected child molester and his pregnant wife while ignoring the opportunity to honor a man—Joseph Cardinal Bernardin—who affected in positive ways the lives of millions gives rise to those of us who fear that the media continues to highlight the worst in people rather than the best. Shame on you.

ROBERT SANDERS
My heart breaks for the Sanders family over the loss of their daughter Alison. I must thank them, though, for perhaps saving the life of my own daughter Ryley, 4. I had been letting her ride in the front seat of our mini-van, which is equipped with a passenger-side air bag. Since the Sanderses have started their national campaign, there is much greater public awareness concerning children and air bags, and Ryley now rides in the back only. Nothing will ever replace the Sanders child, but there are many children who can thank them for making their lives safer.

PAMELA & TOMMY LEE
It took me longer to throw out my Thanksgiving turkey than it took for Pamela and Tommy Lee to fall in love and get married. Four days? Come on! Being "spontaneous" should not include marriage vows. Way too many people don't realize that saying "I do" means forever.

JUNE CROSS
I was deeply touched by the story of June Cross. Despite her pain, she realizes her mother is a courageous woman who loved her and did the best she knew how to do at that time.
KAREN ANN JOHNSON, Indianapolis
Come on, June, put the blame on your mother, not society. Your mother was and still is a selfish gold digger. She saw fit to discard you because people wouldn't understand? What real mother would give her child away and then call her adopted and still worry about losing friends 38 years later?
TERRI CLASH, Washington
Norma Greve is the most callous and selfish woman I have ever read about. She would rather deny her daughter June because she would not have friends if they knew her daughter was half black? June is a saint to forgive her mother's abuse. If more people had taken a stand years ago, we would have progressed further than we are today in race relations!

SHERRY STRINGFIELD
Does Sherry Stringfield know when she's got a good thing going? She quit NYPD Blue, and now she's quitting ER to move away to be with her boyfriend. At $70,000 an episode, I'd tell the boyfriend to follow me around.

JAMES ELLROY
The Nov. 25 article on James Ellroy cited America's Most Wanted as the TV show on which Ellroy's quest for his mother's murderer was chronicled. Actually it was NBC's Unsolved Mysteries.
