The presence of pop-soul goddess Darlene Love, vocal star of Phil Spector's 1963 rock and roll classic A Christmas Gift for You, is reason enough to grab this boisterous soundtrack to the Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy. Love wails her way through "Sleigh Ride" and "Deep in the Heart of Xmas" and is ably backed on both by ex-Stray Cat Brian Setzer and his orchestra. The rest is a mixture of big-band sounds (Lou Rawls's "So They Say It's Christmas"), bluesy classics (Charles Brown's "Merry Christmas Baby") and pure raunch (Clarence Carter's "Back Door Santa").
