Astrologer and self described psychic Jeane Dixon, 79, died of a heart attack on Jan. 25 in Washington. In 1956, Dixon was quoted in Parade magazine as saying that a tall, young, brown-haired, blue-eyed Democrat would be elected President in 1960 and would die in office. While that prognostication later catapulted her to fame, some of Dixon's predictions—that World War III would break out in 1958 and that the Soviets would put the first person on the moon—came to naught.

Actor Tom Sizemore (The Relic) was arrested on Jan. 24 in Los Angeles after he allegedly knocked his wife, actress Maeve Quinlan, 32, of the CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful, to the floor during an argument at their West Hollywood home. Sizemore, 35, who was released on $50,000 bail, claimed in a statement that he had "had too much to drink and got too loud."

CBS anchor Dan Rather has identified the man who assaulted him on a New York City street in 1986 while asking mysteriously, "What is the frequency, Kenneth?" Rather, 65, identified his assailant as William Tager after the New York Daily News showed him photos of the man. Tager, 49, is serving a 12½-to-25-year sentence for the 1994 fatal shooting of an NBC technician outside the Today show studio.

George Heitman, 36, of Tacoma, Wash., filed suit on Jan. 23 against Jeff Smith, 58, the cooking-show host known as the Frugal Gourmet, claiming that Smith sexually assaulted him in 1976 while Heitman was a work-study student at the chef's Tacoma restaurant. Lawyers for the plaintiff, who is seeking unspecified damages, say they will also file suit on behalf of a teenager who accuses Smith of sexually assaulting him in 1992. Smith has denied the accusations....

Actor Billy Gray, 59, who played Robert Young's son Bud on the TV series Father Knows Best, filed a libel suit on Jan. 24 in L.A. superior court against movie critic Leonard Maltin and two San Francisco newspapers, the Examiner and the Chronicle. Gray claims that Maltin damaged his career when he wrote inaccurately in his Movie & Video Guide that Gray was a heroin addict when he appeared in the 1971 movie Dusty and Sweets McGee. Both papers repeated that information. Gray, who says he found out about Maltin's review from friends last summer, portrayed a drug dealer in the film.

Actor Gary Oldman, 38, is engaged to marry photographer Donya Fiorentino, 29. It will be the second marriage for Fiorentino and the third for Oldman. No wedding date has been set....

MTV political anchor Tabitha Soren, 29, is engaged to marry journalist Michael Lewis, 36. The autumn wedding will be Soren's first and Lewis's third.

Actress La Wanda Page, 76, who played sassy Aunt Esther on the '70s sitcom Sanford and Son, is in good condition after undergoing angioplasty on her left leg as a result of complications of diabetes on Jan. 23 in an L.A. hospital.
