Moonlight Serenade

On her fourth collection of standards, following 1981's Torch, 1990's My Romance and 1997's Film Noir, Carly Simon doesn't bring much new to these golden oldies. And her song selection is fairly predictable, including such oft-covered classics as "I've Got You Under My Skin," "I Only Have Eyes for You" and the title tune. Even so, Simon's rich, distinctive timbre and natural jazz lilt help shine a little "Moonglow" on these ballroom-ready arrangements.
