Ben Stiller (Meet the Fockers), 39, and his wife, actress Christine Taylor (Dodgeball), 34, had their second child, son Quinlin Dempsey, in L.A. on July 10. The couple, who wed in May 2000, also have a daughter, Ella, 3.

Reality star Adam Mesh (Average Joe) recently proposed to financier Jessica Malca. "I wanted there to be an element of surprise," says Mesh, 29, who brought Malca, 24, to a theater and arranged for a private screening of a film showing highlights of their time together before he popped the question. The couple plan to marry in Miami next May.... Producer Robert Evans (Chinatown), 75, recently got engaged to Victoria White, 42. This will be the third marriage for White and the seventh for Evans. The couple, who have dated about three months, will wed Aug. 5.

TV host Brooke Burke (Rock Star: INXS) and her husband, plastic surgeon Garth Fisher, are separating after being together for seven years. "Although our careers have taken us in different directions, we have a great deal of respect for one another," the couple told PEOPlE. Burke, 33, and Fisher, 47, have two children, Neriah, 5, and Sierra Sky, 3.... On July 26 Paula Rader, 57, was granted an immediate divorce from Dennis Rader, who confessed in June that he is the serial murderer known as the BTK killer. A Wichita, Kans., judge waived the standard 60-day waiting period in the interest of Paula's mental health. Rader, 60, who was not at the hearing, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of first-degree murder and will be sentenced on Aug. 17.

Tennis champ Pete Sampras and actress Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (The Wedding Planner) welcomed their second son, Ryan Nikolaos, on July 29 in L.A. "Mother and son are doing great," the couples spokeswoman told PEOPLE. Sampras, 33, who won 14 Grand Slam singles titles during his career, wed Wilson, 31, in 2000. Big brother Christian is 2.

American Idol finalist Bo Bice broke his foot onstage July 31 while performing at a Manchester, N. H., concert. The singer, 29, was treated at a local hospital. "There's nothing to worry about," says Bice, who will wear a cast. "There's no keeping me from the tour."

On Aug. 1 Baltimore Oriole Rafael Palmeiro was suspended for 10 days for violating Major League Baseball's steroid policy. In a statement, Palmeiro, 40, said, "I have never intentionally used a banned substance, but I unfortunately wasn't careful enough."

Comedian and writer Pat McCormick, 78, died on July 29 in Woodland Hills, Calif. McCormick, who was partially paralyzed in 1998 after suffering a stroke, regularly appeared on The Gong Show and was featured in the Smokey and the Bandit movies...On Aug.1 King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, 84, died in a Riyadh hospital. Fahd, who had ruled the oil-rich country since 1982, had suffered from ongoing medical problems following a stroke 10 years ago. Crown Prince Abdullah, Fahd's half brother, will be confirmed as the new monarch.... Comedy writer Danny Simon, the older brother of play-wright Neil Simon, died on July 26 in Portland, Ore., of complications after a stroke. Danny, who wrote for such programs as Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows and Diff'rent Strokes, served as the inspiration for the finicky Felix in Neil Simon's The Odd Couple.
