SEINFELD'S BUNDLE OF BOY!
Jerry Seinfeld, 51, and wife Jessica, 34, welcomed their third child, son Shepherd Kellen, Aug. 22 in New York City. The couple, married since 1999, also have a daughter, Sascha, 4 and a son, Julian, 2. "The baby and parents are home and doing great," says Seinfeld's rep.

ENGAGED
Author Jay McGraw (The Ultimate Weight Solution for Teens), 26, son of TV talk show host Dr. Phil, got engaged to Erica Dahm, 27, one of triplet Playboy playmates in 1998, Aug. 26 in Dallas.

RECUPERATING
American Idol's Bo Bice was released from a Las Vegas hospital Aug. 24 after undergoing emergency abdominal surgery. The singer, 29, felt ill before his show, was taken to an ER and was operated on to remove an intestinal blockage. Bice suffered another medical mishap in July, when he broke his foot during a concert. He is now recovering at his Alabama home.

LEGAL MATTERS
On Aug. 25 truck driver Breck Wyngarden and his wife, Ascension, filed a lawsuit against Eminem, his bus driver and the tour bus company regarding a July accident in Missouri. The couple, seeking unspecified damages, allege that the rapper's tour bus driver hit their tractor-trailer while trying to avoid an accident. Several people were hurt, including the Wyngardens, who sustained rib, head, neck and back injuries. Eminem was not on the bus at the time.

TROUBLE
Robert Chambers, the man dubbed the Preppy Killer after the 1986 strangling of Jennifer Levin in Manhattan's Central Park, was sentenced to 100 days in jail Aug. 29 after pleading guilty to heroin possession. Chambers, 38, released in 2003 after a 15-year prison term for Levin's death, got an additional 10 days added to his sentence because he arrived late for court...Former All-Star pitcher Dwight Gooden entered a drug-and-alcohol treatment center Aug. 30 after being jailed for an Aug. 22 incident during which he allegedly fled from police after being stopped on suspicion of drunk driving. Gooden, 40, who won a World Series with the New York Mets, surrendered nearly four days later. He also faces a plea hearing Oct. 25 for domestic violence charges stemming from a March arrest. A lawyer for Gooden says, "He is very focused on recovery and looks forward to private time to get his life together."

DEATHS
Photographer Quintana Roo Dunne Michael, 39, daughter of author Joan Didion, died Aug. 26 in N.Y.C. of complications from an abdominal infection. Didion's upcoming book The Year of Magical Thinking deals with her daughter's ongoing illness.
