FASHION ROCKS 2005

NEW YORK CITY, SEPT. 8
While kicking off Spring Fashion Week with a concert, musicians and models prove that raising money for Katrina's victim is in vogue.

"I like it because it has a Latin theme, a little ruffle up the [rear]," says Rebecca Romijn of the Chang Reyes dress she wore to the show, which raised $250,000 to help hurricane survivors.

After singing her hit "Cool," Gwen Stefani (left), in a frock from her clothing line L.A.M.B., hangs backstage with a Dolce & Gabbana-clad Lisa Marie Presley, who joined rocker Billy Idol onstage for his classic "White Wedding."

The highlight of the evening? David Bowie, 58, getting ziggy with it, wowing the crowd with his first performance since his heart attack in June 2004. Donning an Agnes B. suit, the rocker strummed alongside the band the Arcade Fire and got a standing ovation for his 1972 song "Five Years."

"Fashion will always be a part of music," says rapper Nelly, whose mouthful of metal complemented his Dolce & Gabbana jacket.
