All That Sparkles

It was like seeing the stars of my favorite shows in one time slot: The O.C.'s Peter Gallagher and wife Paula, American Idol's Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul and Desperate Housewives' Eva Longoria all turned out at the Sept. 18 Entertainment Tonight Emmy party sponsored by PEOPLE. Held at the Mondrian on L.A.'s Sunset Strip, the gala—also honoring ET's 25th season—included celeb pleasers such as the Godiva Platinum Lounge, where Lauren Holly fed a truffle to a waiter, and the Maybelline Beauty Bar, where women in evening gowns waited for touch-ups with new products. (Great Lash Clear Mascara was a hit.) When not grooving to Earth, Wind & Fire, 1,400 guests were shouting happily over lobster mashed potatoes and Piper-Heidsieck champagne. A night to remember, indeed.

BLING TO BENEFIT THE RED CROSS

Diamond rings donated by star jewelers in conjunction with the Diamond Information Center for a raffle that evening were instead placed on eBay for a 10-day auction; proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross' Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
