Just like a typical Libra, Toni Braxton strives for balance-between contemporary R&B and her own classic sound—on her sumptuous fifth studio album. The soul songstress shows that she can hang with the Ameries of the world on the "1 Thing"-esque "Take This Ring," while smoothly riding the slightly trippy beats on "Trippin' (That's the Way Love Works)." But Braxton is still at her husky-voiced best on signature slow jams like the acoustic-guitar-laced "I Wanna Be (Your Baby)," cowritten and coproduced by longtime collaborator Babyface, and the smartly jazzy "Stupid."
