BIRTHS
The King of Queens star Kevin James, 40, and his wife, Steffiana De La Cruz, 31, welcomed their first child, Sienna-Marie, on Sept. 30. The couple married last year.

HOSPITALIZED
Romeo Beckham, 3, son of British soccer star David Beckham, 30, and his wife, Victoria, a.k.a. Posh Spice, 31, was admitted to a Madrid hospital Oct. 4 after suffering an apparent convulsion. The toddler, whose siblings are Brooklyn, 6, and Cruz, 7 months, had been rushed to the hospital for the same problem three days earlier but was released after tests.

LEGAL MATTERS
On Sept. 29 near Edinburgh, a man was arrested at Midlothian's famed Rosslyn Chapel after allegedly trying to get an autograph from Tom Hanks, 49, on the set of The Da Vinci Code. The man was charged with breach of the peace. A rep for Hanks had no official comment...
Pete Doherty, sometime boyfriend of model Kate Moss, 31, and frontman for the rock band Baby Shambles, was arrested at a Shrewsbury, England, music venue on Oct. 2 after a police drug bust. Police confirmed a man was detained on suspicion of drug possession. Doherty was released on bail. A rep for the singer had no additional comment.

DEATHS
Pioneering U.S.judge Constance Baker Motley, 84, the first African-American woman to become a New York State senator and to be appointed to the federal bench, died Sept. 28 in Manhattan of congestive heart failure. Motley was a lawyer who worked on many cases that helped end segregation in the South, including 1954's Supreme Court case Brown v. the Board of Education.
