ON THE SIDELINES: Andy Roddick is joining the ranks of athletes, hip-hop stars and actors turned designers. The tennis ace has paired with his sponsor Reebok to launch Rbk Crews performance tees and a separate line of vintage-looking shirts inspired by his life. One reads "Corn Fed Tennis" (he was born in Omaha, Neb.) and another says "Hot Rodd Body Shop" and lists the location as 152nd Street—152 m.p.h. being his one-time record-breaking serve speed. He's also designed shorts and sneakers—but don't fall in love with the treads he wears at the U.S. Open: Those are custom-made....

CHICK MAGNATE: Nicky Hilton is turning into a real Vegas act—first her spontaneous wedding to Todd Meister and, more recently, the fashion show for her new clothing line Chick (which has been her nickname since she was 2) at the Palms casino last week. The casual line features denim miniskirts, tanks, jeans, blazers and more, all set to debut in early 2005 at prices from $25 to $180. P. Diddy and Tara Reid made an appearance along with other celeb pals. And to top it off, dad Rick Hilton presented her with a big bouquet of flowers at the end of the show.

The Stuff of Legends
Move over, Joan—there's another Crawford on the list. Cindy Crawford is the latest famous lady (joining Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Lucille Ball) to star in Blackglama's 36-year-old "What Becomes a Legend Most?" campaign. And probably one of the most controversial. PETA has accused her of betrayal after appearing in one of its ads in 1994. Crawford denies posing for them, saying she modeled designer Todd Oldham's fake-fur hat not knowing where the photos would end up—a claim he supports. Her Blackglama pictures are the first to be shot in color and will debut in the early fall.

The latest It is a Brit: London designers Richard Emden and David Brachers whimsical and multiadorned bags are carried by Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Penélope Cruz, Drew Barrymore and Beyoncé. The bags—with names like Astral Breast and Luna Duck—come in different shapes and colors and are decorated with rivets, lacing, leather cutout shapes and Swarovski crystals. As the British would say, "Brilliant."
