"I wanted to wear things that were sexy but classy. It's a family show and I'm a single mom, so I knew that a lot of young kids would look up to me. My thing was to show that there were many ways to be sexy yet classy at the same time. You can let a little bit hang out but still have class."

"I've learned that some shirt colors do look better than others. I like blues and darker colors. Certain colors wash you out, like if I wear green, it makes me look like death warmed over."
RACHEL VELTRI

"My wardrobe has significantly increased in the color area. I have so much color now, in my skirts, shoes—peaches, pinks, blues, greens. I love miniskirts, and I think boys like to see your legs. All my skirts are way above the knees."

"My family is predominantly Italian, so I appreciate good fashion. I do know who Armani and Gucci are. I've bought some nice clothes since I've been in L.A., and some of those were jeans that fit my body better. The girls said loose pants didn't show off what I had under them. I think the more fitted jeans do show my backside better."
DIANA DEGARMO
American Idol
"I cannot wear satin. I'm too curvy for a dress like that. I didn't have anything else to wear, so I wore it anyway. What can you do? Always wear what best fits your figure. Accessories are everything. You can take a pair of jeans and a shirt and mix them with a cute belt, a couple of bracelets, some high heels and you're set."
HEIDI BRESSLER

"Seeing myself onscreen, I noticed my eyebrows were so thin on TV it made me puke! I let them grow out, had them lightened and now go to an eyebrow guru. What a difference! I also wear neutral shades of makeup now. No red lipstick or silver eye shadow. I really thought I would pass out when I saw my makeup on television."
