WINNER'S CIRCLE
Forget Sideways: Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen went straight ahead to glamor in this sleek Monique Lhuillier silk crepe bias-cut gown at the Producers Guild Awards.

ROLE MODEL:
You should listen to Mom, especially if Mom's genes made you look like Cindy Crawford. And Meaningful Beauty, Crawford's new skin-care line, was inspired by her mom's advice: "The face you have at 25 is the face God gave you, but the face you have after 50 is the face you earned." Developed with Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh, the system "allows me to share my access to the best doctors, newest ingredients and latest science with women everywhere," says Crawford. If she'd only share those great legs....

DOWN UNDER WEAR:
Elle "The Body" Macpherson is also the brain behind one of the U.K.'s top-selling lingerie lines. Now the Aussie overachiever is bringing Elle Macpherson Intimates to the U.S. "I believe in women being empowered by their femininity and sexuality," says Macpherson, who is intimately involved in designing the line....

OSCAR LACE:
Only one nominee will win the Best Actress Oscar. But all five, from Hilary Swank to Kate Winslet, got an extra surprise the day nominations were announced: Victoria's Secret Oscar Survival Kits of pink lipstick, Basic Instinct fragrance, a black lace panty, a pink jeweled clutch, and a pink-sapphire-and-diamond clover brooch by Mouawad. The kit is valued at $15,000; but the Clover that turns out to be lucky is priceless....

CRIB NOTES:
You may not drive the same Benz, but now you can decorate your room in the style of celebs like Missy Elliott and Shaquille O'Neal, whose homes starred on MTV Cribs. MTV Music Television and Designspace have teamed with JCPenney to launch CRIBS, a home line inspired by the show. And it's so well-priced, you can still splurge on Cristal.

A-DRESSING THE NATION

At Inauguration version 2.0, all the President's women wore sleek second-term looks

What a difference four years make, stylistically speaking. George is grayer, Laura's leaner, the first freshmen have morphed into first fashionistas. Instead of relying mainly on Texas talent as in the first round, the Bush ladies prepped for their second Inauguration by flying to New York to work with classic couturiers (Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka) and newer designers (Lela Rose, Derek Lam). Laura had veto power over all choices—"She just wanted to make sure the gowns were appropriate," says Mark Badgley. While the twins are close—"They call each other 'Herm,' short for hermana, which is Spanish for sister," reports Lela Rose—each has her own style. "Barbara is classicism with a modern twist," says Lam. "Jenna is more bohemian." And it looks like Jenna wears the pants in the White House—possibly a swearing-in first for First Daughters.

THE JEWELS

BARBARA'S BAUBLES
The twins "chose not to do necklaces," says Anthony Camargo of Anthony Nak. Barbara called her Nak earrings "little masterpieces."

LAURA'S LOOK
To complement her silver-blue gown, the First Lady wore 1930s aquamarine earrings and necklace from Fred Leighton.

BARBARA BUSH
DAY: Barbara had a cotton Derek Lam trench remade in cashmere.
NIGHT: Her silk chiffon Badgley Mischka was "sophisticated and feminine," says Badgley.

JENNA BUSH
DAY: Jenna chose Lela Rose's detailed coat, ivory shell and pants (!)
NIGHT: Her emerald silk crepe Badgley Mischka gown "is great for her skin color," says Badgley.

LAURA BUSH
DAY: Laura went white in Oscar de la Renta's suit and cashmere coat.
NIGHT: Oscar again, this time in an ice-blue embroidered gown she paired with a Judith Leiber bag.
