Actor James Denton (Desperate Housewives), 42, and his wife, Erin, a fitness trainer, welcomed their second child, a girl, Malin, March 22 in L.A. The couple also have a 1-year-old son Sheppard.... Actors Boris Kodjoe, 31, and Nicole Ari Parker, 34, the stars of the UPN sitcom Second Time Around, welcomed their first child, daughter Sophie, March 5 in L.A. The couple plan to wed in May.... Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon, 40, and her husband, artist Fritz Chesnut, 32, had their second child, son Nolan, March 15 in New York. He joins 1-year-old sister Stella.
FINALIZED
Russell Yates, 40, the husband of Andrea Yates, 40, the Texas woman sentenced to life in prison for the drowning of her five children (PEOPLE, July 9, 2001), finalized their divorce March 17 in Houston. Andrea, whose conviction was overturned in January, is being held in a psychiatric prison pending further proceedings. She will receive $7,000 in cash, a glider rocking chair and the right to be buried near her children.
LEGAL MATTERS
On March 18 in Birmingham, Ala., Ronald Edwards, 46, the former business manager of American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, 26, filed a $500,000 countersuit against his ex-client claiming that Studdard failed to pay management fees and other expenses. In February, Studdard filed a suit saying that Edwards mismanaged his money. Edwards denies the allegations. A lawyer for Studdard said, "This was a breach of trust."...On March 21 in Ventura County, Calif., former Growing Pains star Tracey Gold, 35, was sentenced to three years probation and 30 days of work release for a felony drunk driving charge. Last September the actress was driving with her husband, Roby Marshall, and their children when she lost control of her SUV (PEOPLE, Sept. 27, 2004). Gold must also complete 160 hours of community service. A lawyer for Gold said, "She took responsibility and made no excuses."
NOT GUILTY
On March 16 in Van Nuys, Calif., former Baretta star Robert Blake, 71, was acquitted of the murder of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, 44, who was shot to death nearly four years ago (PEOPLE, May 21, 2001). The jury foreman deemed the circumstantial evidence against Blake "flimsy." After the verdict was read Blake said, "I never lost hope."
DEATHS
John De Lorean, 80, the man behind the gull-winged sports car that bore his name, died March 19 in Summit, N. J., after suffering a stroke.... Cabaret singer Bobby Short, 80, a fixture at New York City's Carlyle hotel for more than 35 years, died of leukemia March 21 in Manhattan.
