Plum Luck
Luxe and regal purple will be the rage for fall—and these fortunate stars got first pick from designers' showrooms

Halle Berry, in Valentino, at an MTV party in N.Y.C.

Reese Witherspoon, in Alberta Ferretti, at an L.A. premiere.

Nicole Kidman, in Azzaro by Vanessa Seward, in London.

Behind the Seams

WINNER'S CIRCLE
Debra was not Messing around at the NBC Primetime Preview in New York City. In a flora Missoni dress paired with a green Lambertson Truex clutch, she looked perfectly Grace-ful.

CUTE AS A BUTTON-DOWN: The resemblance is uncanny—Courteney Cox Arquette's Craig Taylor shirt looks just like the one her daughter Coco owns. And it is! The designer makes pint-size versions of his big-girl blouses, and Cox orders both, most recently the Flip Flops shirt in bright stripes that girls of all ages seem to flip for....
Flip Flops shirt, $215 adult, $55 toddler; 800-879-4500.

TOO PRETTY TO SMASH: Maybe that's why the table settings weren't thrown by Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda during one of their battle scenes in Monster-in-Law. The plates, glasses and flatware used in the rehearsal-dinner scene are from Kate Spade's new home collection; Fonda liked it so much, she wanted to keep it...

ON A ROLL: Katie Holmes has been a fan of Carolina Herrera's since she became America's Dawson's Creek sweetheart. Now that she's also Tom Cruise's globe-trotting sweetie, she's wearing the designer's roll-on fragrances. "They're perfect for traveling," says the actress. Or a romantic weekend in Rome, perhaps? ...

CABOOSE BOOST: With its Lycra insert, strategic coloring and angled waistband, the FRx Perfection Jean is taking derrieres to new heights. The support lining runs from the waist to the thigh and cradles the behind to create lift while a lighter wash on the front gives the illusion of slimmer hips. These new jeans from FRx launch in June; Cameron Diaz and Jessica Simpson are fans of FRx's existing line.

HOW TWEETY IT IS
The little yellow bird is making a big comeback

Oh, great. Just what we need—another famous blonde with an eye for fashion. But this chick's legit. Warner Bros. recently licensed the Tweety Bird image to several hip and cheeky designers, and their wares have already taken flight. The items will be sold exclusively at Scoop stores nationwide and at Kitson in L.A., which hosted a Natural Blonde party to celebrate the launch. Feathered friends Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Tori Spelling attended. And there wasn't a Putty Tat in sight.

Havaianas flip-flops, $18

Shoshanna bikini top, $75 and bottom, $75

And Cake tank, $95

All items available at Kitson, www.shopkitson.com

BEAUTY TREND

Cat Eyes
Celebs are winking like an Egyptian, tracing the entire eye in dramatic black liner that curves up at the end for a look that is "very Cleopatra," says makeup artist Mary Phillips, who gave Jessica Simpson the royal treatment. "You can decide how far up you want the tail to go—for the gala we went a little crazier."

HOW-TO: 1. First Phillips created the shape with Styli-Style Flat Pencil in New York, $8; at CVS.

2. Then she traced it with liquid liner—Chanel Automatic in Black, $30; www.gloss.com.
