My worst date? The guy who asked me to dinner but brought me to an Amway meeting instead. So I can empathize with the 12 women looking for love online in this five-part series. More often, they find guys like Andrew, who likens himself to Fabio on the phone, but shows up looking like Kramer. Still, Hooking Up isn't all bad sideburns and grabby hands. I found myself anticipating the next episode like I would a second-date phone call—ready to cheer on these gutsy women (who let the cameras trail them for a year) rather than take pleasure in their pain. "I have a really good feeling about this one," becomes the women's mantra. Even though you know the odds are against them, you really hope they're right.
