Picks and Pans Review: Sounds Off
Evan Rachel Wood
After wowing critics as an out-of-control kid in this summer's Thirteen, former Once and Again star Evan Rachel Wood—who's 16 and home-schooled—plays another parental nightmare: an abducted teen in The Missing.
ON FILMING THE MISSING IN NEW MEXICO "We were in the middle of nowhere, so I had friends come visit. We went crazy with my video camera and made music videos with sheep. We'd do their voices for them. Knowing my luck, they'll surface on Access Hollywood one day: 'The Deranged Evan Wood.' "
ON HER OWN LIFE AT 13 "It was pretty similar to the film. Not things I've done, but things my friends were doing. I couldn't really relate to the drugs and sex, but I definitely witnessed much too much of all that. My mom taught me to be strong and be my own person."
ON HER LIFE OFFSCREEN
"I'm a dork, really. I find it really funny to see myself made up. I sing karaoke—get a bunch of people together and go crazy. It's great! [I do] 'Paradise City.' "
ON WHERE SHE WANTS TO BE AT 30: "I just hope I'm in Paris."
