HOMETOWN: Edmonds, Wash.
LATEST GIG: TV's most boorish (if surprisingly charming) suitor
•Place That Face: He's the locker-room hulk who gets blown away by a hair dryer in Hungry Man commercials.
•His Big Fat Break: A 1996 graduate of the American Conservatory Theater, Bailey auditioned last November for FOX producers who were seeking an actor to play the title slob. "They said I should do some improv and say rude things for five minutes."
•Stealth Mission: To embarrass—nay, freak out—Randi Coy, 23, a Scottsdale, Ariz., school teacher in front of her family. She thinks the hefty Steven is a fellow contestant helping her fool her kin into believing the two are engaged. (The promised payoff: $500,000 each.) Randi doesn't know that Steven's repulsive behavior—pigging out, belching, dancing in his underwear—is all an act.
•Was She Fooled? And how. "I had no idea," says Coy. "He said he was nervous and that's why he was acting like that. I actually felt sympathy for him!"
•True Love: His wife, makeup artist Anneliese Boies, 32 (no kids, two kittens), who "loves the show. She's seen me dance in my underwear before."
•What's Next: "My stomach has its own agent now," Bailey jokes. "And my butt is getting a lot of calls."
