If OutKast were a trio, then Cee-Lo could be the third member. The artist, formerly of the hip-hop outfit Goodie Mob, emerged from the same Atlanta music scene that produced OutKast, and he shares the same eccentric, eclectic sensibilities as Big Boi and Andre 3000. On his second solo CD, Cee-Lo defies categorization by shifting between rhyming and singing, old-school soul and southern-fried rap, sometimes within the same song. In doing so he nods to the Spinners and Al Green while bringing in guest emcees Timbaland and another fellow Atlantan, Ludacris.
