A DIFFERENT WORLD
Will smith isn't the only one rocking the house these days. For the past few months wife Jada Pinkett Smith has been quietly honing her vocal prowess performing with her rock-soul band Wicked Wisdom in small clubs around L.A. Now the group has scored its biggest coup yet: opening for Britney Spears's Onyx Hotel tour for eight dates in the U.K. in April and May. Pinkett Smith put the band together a year or so ago. "She's been singing her whole life but chose to focus on acting," says a source, who tells me Wicked Wisdom is working on a CD.

COURT GESTURE
My spies recently spotted Justin Timberlake at L.A.'s Superior Courthouse. He requested documents pertaining to a particular lawsuit, then took a seat to peruse them. When autograph seekers approached him, Timberlake waved them away, saying he was "working." Is he planning a lawsuit of his own? Nope, the singer was researching his role as an investigative reporter in Edison, a thriller he's due to begin shooting in Vancouver this month. According to his rep, he wanted to learn how to retrieve public records—convincingly.

MATERNITY SUIT
Early last year Gabrielle Reece discovered she was pregnant. But according to the 6'3" former volleyball star, not everyone was as excited as she and her husband, surfer Laird Hamilton. I've learned that Reece has filed a lawsuit charging discrimination against Consac Industries and Tea Tree Solutions, claiming they ended her two-year endorsement deal last June. Reece says they told her she could no longer promote the company's nutritional supplements, doubting that she could "appear in model physical condition." "The question that this case raises is whether pregnant women ought to be penalized in their professional affairs," says Reece's attorney, whose client appears on the current cover of Fit Pregnancy in a photo taken when she was 8½ months pregnant. (Reece gave birth to daughter Reece Viola Oct. 11.) A lawyer for Consac and Tea Tree says his firm does not comment on pending litigation.
