Although Angelina Jolie didn't have a date for the Oscars, surely she had no shortage of volunteers. In fact, hasn't the actress been seeing Colin Farrell, her costar in the upcoming epic Alexander? "No! We became great friends," says Jolie, 28, now costarring in the thriller Taking Lives. "The thing about rumors is that you're on a set with Val Kilmer and me and Colin, and we all looked around thinking, 'Well, which [of us] is going to get attacked with rumors?' " As for keeping up with the gossip columns, she says, "I tend not to read the papers and I don't watch those TV shows—although I heard I was with Jared Leto and I thought, Where did that come from?"
No Fall From Grace
As the pregnant Debra Messing moves closer to her spring due date, shooting Will & Grace is becoming more challenging. "We are running out of ways to hide Debra's stomach," reports her costar Eric McCormack, 40. "At first the refrigerator door was good enough, but now we have to have trucks drive through scenes." The actress, known for her physical comedy, also falls down less. "Instead of being funny, clumsy, silly Grace," McCormack says, "she is now just lazy Grace."
Ever wonder what happens to Vanna White's Wheel of Fortune outfits? Well, one of them wound up on a prostitute. "The night of my first trick, I wore her Christmas dress from the '80s," says Jamie-Lynn DiScala, 22, who portrays Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss in Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss, airing March 29 on USA. "I don't know where the costume designer found it, but it's an authentic Vanna White dress. It came with a certificate and a picture of her in it. It was a bright red chiffon gown with a sweetheart neckline and [off-the-shoulder] sleeves. It was really fitted, with a slit in the front. It was so cheesy it was awesome." Did she keep it? "Noooo!" DiScala says with a laugh. "I don't know where I'd wear that except around the house or on Halloween."
What is the best perk of fame for Liv Tyler? "Having free things sent to your hotel all the time," says the actress, currently starring as Ben Affleck's love interest in Jersey Girl. "Although it's actually quite dangerous because you get so used to it." In fact that's just what the 26-year-old actress learned after this year's Academy Awards, where she was a presenter. "The week of the Oscars there were two or three huge bags and baskets of free clothes every day," says Tyler. "I was sending stuff to my mom and my girlfriends. I was so excited. Then, the day after the Oscars, nothing. Again."
