Fonda plays an overbearing mother who tries to break up her son's engagement to Lopez.

Production began at the Ivy restaurant and moved to the nearby Urth Caffé (above).

THE STAR
Paparazzi greeted Lopez on the set. "It was like, 'Welcome back to work!' " says a friend. "She couldn't have been happier."

THE LEADING MAN
Michael Vartan stars as Fonda's son.

Lopez "didn't turn up with an entourage," says a friend. "She's clearly Jennifer and not J.Lo on this set."

Costume designer Kym Barrett gave Fonda a crisp but curvy look.
