A Cinderella Story's Chad Michael Murray, 22, proposed to his One Tree Hill costar Sophia Bush, also 22, in May in Australia. Murray popped the question on a tennis court adorned with 20 bouquets of roses and 500 lit candles spelling out a special message for his girlfriend of less than one year.
Actress Holly Robinson Peete, 39 (Like Family), and her husband of nine years, Rodney Peete, 38, a former NFL quarterback, are expecting their fourth child this winter. The tot will join twins Rodney and Ryan Elizabeth, 6, and brother Robinson, who turns 2 this month.
On July 18 in front of more than 200 guests, Alfonse D'Amato, 67, the former Republican U.S. senator from New York, wed attorney Katuria Elizabeth Smith, 38, in Island Park, N.Y. It's the second marriage for D'Amato, who has four grown children; it's the first for Smith.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, 40, and his wife, Skylar, 33, who once dated Matt Damon, are divorcing after seven years of marriage. The couple plan to share custody of their two young sons Myles and Layne.
Actor Michael Bergin (Baywatch), 35, was charged with felony drunk driving July 16, after he hit Jenni Armstrong, a competitive in-line skater, on a West Hollywood street. Bergin, whose tell-all autobiography, The Other Man: A Love Story—John F. Kennedy Jr., Carolyn Bessette, & Me, was published in March, was released on $50,000 bail after nearly 11 hours in jail. Armstrong suffered a broken tibia. A rep for Bergin had no comment.
A 38-year-old intruder carrying a can of gasoline was tackled by several security guards July 18 after he scaled a 7-ft. wall to enter the grounds of David and Victoria Beck ham's country estate in Hertfordshire, England. Victoria, 30, the former Posh Spice, was home alone with the couple's two young children at the time. The trespasser, who has not been identified, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug and an item to cause criminal damage....
Christopher Brosnan, the 31-year-old son of actor Pierce Brosnan, was arrested in a London nightclub July 14, after allegedly stealing several cell phones from other customers' bags. The younger Brosnan has worked as an additional assistant director on two of his father's James Bond movies, The World Is Not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies. Brosnan has not been charged with any crimes but is due back at the police station later this month. A rep for Brosnan could not be reached for comment.
