"Yes, it's true. 180 days in county jail. That is her sentence," the message reads. "But all is well. She is and will be just fine. Just hours after this ruling, she's as positive as ever."
A brief note was also posted on her official Web site, Michelle-Rodriguez.com. That message reads simply: "Yes, it's true. But Michelle is Michelle, so no worries. Check back."
The former Lost star must report to a Los Angeles County jail by Dec. 24 as well as complete 30 days of road clean-up duty. In the meantime, though, she's got a major job pending.
"Michelle will still be leaving for New Zealand to film James Cameron's Avatar and will then report back to turn herself in to serve her sentence on Christmas Eve," says the MySpace posting. "Michelle is a survivor and is always growing from her experiences, and this will be no different."
Rodriguez stars alongside Sigourney Weaver in the $190 million sci-fi epic from the Titanic director. The film is due for a May 2009 release.
The MySpace posting urges fans to support Rodriguez but not worry about her. "Keep her in your thoughts and prayers and send your love and positivity her way and again, know that she currently is and always will be alright," it reads. "Nothing will bring her down, especially not something like this."
