Jamie Foxx, Rascal Flatts to Perform a Duet at CMAs
Apparently, Jamie Foxx is a little bit country. The Oscar-winner plans to sign a duet with Rascal Flatts at the Country Music Association awards next month, ABC announced Tuesday.
Foxx, who won the Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in 2004's Ray, will join the band on "She Goes All the Way," a song from their current album Still Feels Good. Rascal Flatts, who are nominated for entertainer of the year, will also open the night with the title track from the album.
Foxx, 39, has known the group's lead singer, Gary LeVox, for more than a decade. They were even roommates for a brief time in the late 1990s. After running into one another again at last year's Grammy Awards, Foxx agreed to work with the group. His voice can even be heard on the album.
"Jamie is an incredible talent and we were thrilled he took up us on out invitation to join us on the song," says LeVox. "He said he'd do it if we would sing on one of his records, so it's a pretty good swap."
The 41st Annual CMA Awards will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 7.
