Paris Hilton says her postponed trip to Rwanda will take place in 2008, and she is still intent on bringing the suffering of other cultures to the attention of a younger generation.

"We were supposed to be going in November, but then the charity is doing restructuring and figuring things out," Hilton tells Extra. "It's going to be for next year."

The former Simple Life star, 26, said her philanthropy will not be dimished by the temporary setback.

"I want to travel the world," she says. "I feel like there's a lot I can do, and a lot I can do to help. I know [Rwanda] went through a lot of traumatic experiences, and I feel like if I go there, I can help save some people's lives."

The African nation was the scene of genocide in 1994.

Hilton sees her role as a motivational one for a younger generation not well versed in charity work.

"I lot of people do help, but they may be in the older generation," she says. "I want kids to know, even if you're 15 or 16 years old, you can do something."
