Rapper and reality-TV mainstay Da Brat has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after a fight early Thursday morning at a bar outside Atlanta, according to reports.
The 33-year-old Celebrity Fit Club and Surreal Life star allegedly hit a waitress on the head with a bottle of rum at Jermaine Dupri's Studio 72 nightclub at 1:15 a.m . Thursday, TMZ.com reports. She was due to be arraigned with 72 hours.
The waitress reportedly bumped into Da Brat (real name: Shawntae Harris), precipitating a shoving match between the two.
Da Brat was booked into DeKalb County jail, a bonding agent at the jail told a local TV station.
This is the second skirmish involving a celebrity in the Atlanta area in the past two weeks. Kid Rock was arrested on Oct. 21 following a fight at an area Waffle House.
Da Brat faced a similar aggravated assault charge in 2000 in connection with another beating in the Atlanta area. She pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of misdemeanor reckless conduct and received 80 hours of community service, a year's probation and a $1,000 fine.
