Britney's Album Expected to Hit No. 1 | Britney Spears

Britney Spears, whose first four studio albums hit No. 1 on the charts, is likely to return to the pinnacle with her fifth, Blackout, based on a brisk first day of sales, according to Billboard magazine.

The album, released on Tuesday, sold 124,000 copies on its first day, more than double that of the current chart-topper, Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride, in the same period. Spears's label, Jive/Zomba, expects the album to sell between 330,000 and 350,000 copies in its first week, which should easily propel it into the No. 1 slot, Billboard reports.

The 25-year-old pop star's last studio album, 2003's In the Zone, sold 609,000 copies in its first week.

Timed to her latest release, Spears has also overhauled her Web site at Britney.com. The new site – which features the slogan "It's Britney.com, b----! " at the top – features photos, videos, a "fan zone" and blog of Spears news.

Most of the blog entries are written by "BRITannica," who claims to be "literally an encyclopedia of Britney knowledge" and who encourages readers to send in suggestions for improving the site.

"Or just say 'hello,' " BRITannica writes. "I'm always looking for more friends who love Britney as much as I do..."
