Don Imus, who was fired by CBS Radio in April for making disparaging remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team, will return to the air Dec. 3 with New York's WABC Radio, the station's owner confirmed Thursday.

"We are ecstatic to bring Don Imus back to morning radio," said Steve Borneman, president and general manager of 77 WABC, according to the Associated Press.

"Don's unique brand of humor, knowledge of the issues and ability to attract big-name guests is unparalleled. He is rested, fired up and ready to do great radio," Borneman added.

Imus, 67, settled his outstanding multimillion-dollar contract with CBS in August and was then said to be focused on negotiating a deal with WABC, which is owned by Citadel Broadcasting Corp.

The shock jock was fired by CBS for referring to the members of the Rutgers team as "nappy-headed hos." He later apologized to the team.
