Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, 37, and Lhotse Merriam, 33, a lingerie store owner, wed Jan. 12 on the island of Tavarua, Fiji. It's the first marriage for her and the third for Hawk, a father of three.

Citing irreconcilable differences, former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, 53, filed for di vorce from wife Pamela Bach, 43, Jan. 12 in L.A. after 16 years of marriage. His rep said the pair, who have two teen daughters, have already agreed to an “amicable settlement.”

Mehmet Ali Agca, 48, who shot Pope John Paul II in Rome in 1981, was released from an Istanbul prison Jan. 12 after serving 25 years for that crime and the 1979 murder of a Turkish journalist. The Pope, who died last April at 84, forgave Agca in 1983.
