"They really are like one mind in two bodies," says designer James Mischka of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, featured in new Badgley Mischka ads. Until now, that shared mind had applied itself to promoting only Olsenabilia from videos to lip gloss. The newly minted models enjoyed New York Fashion Week: They were spotted at the Aloft Lounge in the Bryant Park tents and hitting Bungalow 8. Back in L.A. Feb. 10, Ashley dined at new hot spot Memphis. The next night M.K. danced "closely" at Privilege with ex-beau David Katzenberg, says a witness. "It looked like they were having a great time."
Split from Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson now seems married to her work: On Feb. 7 she jetted from L.A. to New York City for a photo shoot, then back the following day. Next: Las Vegas, to promote her footwear line at a trade show (and dine at Tao in the Venetian). On Feb. 12, she started work on a new film, Employee of the Month, in Santa Fe. "This time she's not a sex kitten," says her dad, Joe. "She's a cashier at Wal-Mart—it's a good change."
An Insider Quiz: Which Grey's Anatomy doc would you want at your side if you were injured? Before you pick Dr. McDreamy, know that Patrick Dempsey gets through his OR scenes "trying not to shake. I know nothing about neurosurgery," he said at the Grey's Anatomy first-season DVD party at Hollywood's Geisha House Feb. 13. Instead, hope that Isaiah Washington (Dr. Burke) is on duty—he practices stitching on a fake arm ("I'm pretty good at it"). Or go for Justin Chambers (intern Alex), who sutures fruit to hone his skills. Andrea Bowen, a Grey's superfan, said she'd take any of them. "Maybe Julie [her Desperate Housewives character] could get a disease and be treated by the doctors?"
Jennifer Aniston quietly celebrated turning 37 at home in Malibu Feb. 11 with a handful of guests, including Vince Vaughn, most of whom arrived past midnight ... Josh Lucas danced seductively with Swedish model-actress Victoria Silvstedt at a Feb. 9 Victoria's Secret party at N.Y.C. club Show ... L.A. Moroccan bistro TAGINE (co-owned by Ryan Gosling) was crowded Feb. 10, so rather than wait for service, Lucy Liu waited tables for seven pals, pouring wine and serving chicken bastillas ... The next night in Beverly Hills, Felicity Huffman broke into tears at Arnie Morton's steakhouse. Her husband, William H. Macy, had flown in family to honor her Best Actress Oscar nod ... Nominees George Clooney and his Good Night, and Good Luck producer Grant Heslov were feted Feb. 12 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire's GM Penthouse by Lisa Rinna and an old school who's who, including Larry King, Nancy Sinatra and Red Buttons.
