How anyone could murder two beautiful people is beyond comprehension. The only comfort I can take from this story is knowing that Rachel must have died protecting her daughter Lillian. As the mother of a small daughter, I send my prayers to their family.

The part that got to me the most was the image in my head of Rachel and her baby snuggled up for a peaceful night's rest when they had their lives cut short. If Neil Entwistle is found guilty of murdering his wife and child, I hope he meets a fate not unlike that of another wife and child murderer, Scott Peterson. I have one word for Neil and other men like him: Divorce!

CORETTA SCOTT KING
You did a beautiful tribute to Coretta Scott King. After the death of her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the world learned about her indomitable strength and courage. They will be remembered with honor and as role models in the ongoing search for justice.

It was nice to see Coretta on your cover. The only problem I had was she should have been the only person on this cover. I grew up in small-town-white-America and learned to appreciate what Martin and Coretta did. They shaped my views: always judge a person on content of character, not the color of one's skin.
HOUSE OF HORROR?
It made me sick to my stomach and so sad to read about Thomas and Debra Schmitz who adopted and abused so many children. What is happening to our society? No child deserves to be treated in such a manner. I hope that each child finds a caring and loving family to help them forget.

As a defense attorney, I've learned to read such pieces with the goal of cutting through the fluff and emotional factor. Your story was completely one-sided in that it painted the Schmitzes' conduct as selfish and criminal, when on the other hand it could be equally innocent.
How funny and superbly awesome was the photo of Nicollette Sheridan with her Desperate Housewives cast. I guess she wasn't quite aware what to do when they said cheese.
Gain some weight, Teri Hatcher. Thin is not in!

A Dog's Life
Corinne Dowling's dedication to death row dogs was the story that inspired the most reader response, with 83% offering their praise.
I was moved to tears by this amazing woman who is giving love to these forgotten creatures.
Marco Island, Fla.
This is a woman who has a heart so big that she respects the lives of dogs on death row and eases their suffering, even until the very end.
I wonder why Dowling concentrates on comforting dogs? Does she even care about people? Obviously not, if she's all touchy-feely about dogs who have mauled people to death.
These animals are in this position because irresponsible pet owners fail to understand that dogs, like children, need ongoing love.
