CARREY: BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE NUMBER 23

Jim Carrey is obsessed. "I've [been fixated on] the number 23 for years," he said at the recent Celebrity Fight Night XII. "It's everywhere. Each parent passes on 23 chromosomes; Earth's axis is at a 23° angle. Psalm 23 is my mantra: It's about living without fear. So I changed the name of my company to JC23 Entertainment." Fittingly he'll star in the thriller The Number 23. Says Carrey, 44: "I gave the script to a friend, who called to say he was on page 23, circling every 23rd word, looking for the code." The film has no opening date yet, but we have an idea ...

JODIE ON YOUNG HOLLYWOOD

"In my time 18-year-olds could do stupid things and not be on Access Hollywood the next day," says former teen star Jodie Foster, now 43, who costars with Denzel Washington in Inside Man. "It's a shame because there's value to those years where you make mistakes you don't want everyone to know about." In TV ads by age 3, Foster was a veritable showbiz vet by kindergarten. "I remember going to Disneyland when I was 5 and saying, 'I don't want a camera following me,'" she says. "I realized I had to put my foot down or my life would get gobbled up and taken away. I didn't wait [to say that] until I was 25 and had already had a few lampshades on my head."

WHAT'S THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING ON YOUR IPOD?

Jamie-Lynn Sigler: Show tunes. If I put my iPod on speaker, I'll fast forward through them because my friends don't share my love of musical theater.

Xzibit: Mike + the Mechanics' "The Living Years."

Lee Ann Womack: "Don't Cha," by the Pussycat Dolls.

Josh Groban: "Chipmunk Christmas."

Joel Madden (Good Charlotte): "Big Balls" by AC/DC. I was listening the other day thinking, "That's embarrassing."

Kelly Ripa: I'd have to say the theme from Jaws by John Williams.

(Confessions!)

Years and years ago, I streaked through Tom Jones's yard in Beverly Hills. My friends dared me to do this after we had been out to a Mexican restaurant and had margaritas. Tom Jones was hot as he could be at the time—just a sex symbol. Amazing what a margarita will do.
