Aisha Ghauri, 40, a Pakistani-American homemaker who lives in L.A. with her husband and teenage son, thought inviting the girls to take turns in her kitchen might teach them about her family's heritage. Well, Paris's lamb curry was inedible, and Nicole, who went out for specialty spices at the store, blew more than $400. "They tried," says Ghauri, "but it wasn't their thing." Personally, she liked Paris more: "She was very sweet, gentle and soft."
