CRITIC'S CHOICE
DOCUMENTARY

Why equivocate? I love this movie. You will too. Game tells a compelling, complicated story, introduces vibrant, real-life characters and touches on issues of race and class. Directed by Ward Serrill and narrated by Chris Bridges (a.k.a. rapper Ludacris), it follows a Seattle high school girls basketball team for several years after an inspiring coach, Bill Resler (by day a tax professor at a nearby college), takes over. He sagely helps his players, particularly star Darnellia Russell, overcome challenges both on and off the court (including a pregnancy). Resler, his players and Game are all winners. (PG-13)
