It's another girl for Greg Kinnear. The actor, 43, and his wife, Helen, 36, welcomed daughter Audrey Mae Kinnear June 13 in L.A. She joins big sis Lily, 2.... Oscar-nominated actress Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) and her husband, director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth), both 42, celebrated the arrival of their third child, daughter Agnes Charles Guggenheim, June 25.... The World Cup isn't the only story in soccer: Olympic soccer star Brandi Chastain and her husband, Santa Clara University women's soccer coach Jerry Smith, had a son, Jaden Chastain Smith, June 8 in Santa Clara, Calif.
On June 20, CBS announced Dan Rather is leaving the network. The former anchor, 74, stepped down from The CBS Evening News last year, months after his controversial report on President Bush's National Guard service was revealed to have been based on suspect documents. "He's truly a 'reporter's reporter,'" said the network. "His legacy cannot be replicated." ... Jay-Z has called for a boycott of Cristal champagne, a favorite among hip-hoppers, after the company's managing director, Frédéric Rouzaud, suggested he'd rather not have their business. "What can we do?" the Cristal chief told The Economist. "We can't forbid people from buying it."
Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood checked into a London rehabilitation clinic for treatment of alcohol abuse. Wood, 59, has long battled drinking problems, having completed a rehab stint last year. The group, which postponed a world tour after bandmate Keith Richards suffered a head injury in April, still plans to kick off its concert season July 11.... Oil heir Brandon Davis, the ex-boyfriend of The O.C. star Mischa Barton, recently went into a Malibu rehab facility. Davis's rep had no comment.
Kate Moss can sleep a little easier these days. Authorities announced June 15 that the supermodel wouldn't be charged in relation to photos published last year of her allegedly snorting cocaine (PEOPLE, Oct. 10, 2005). Moss, 32, was cleared due to insufficient evidence. Said prosecutor Rene Barclay to the AP: "In the absence of any forensic evidence, or direct eyewitness evidence about the substance in question, its precise nature could not be established." ... A Martinez, Calif., jury convicted Susan Polk, the housewife accused of killing her psychotherapist husband in 2002, of second-degree murder June 16. The case attracted wide media interest because Polk, 48, had been treated by Felix, 70, while still a teenager and then married him a decade later (PEOPLE, March 13, 2006).
The direct approach worked for musician Josh Kelley last spring when he met Grey's Anatomy's Katherine Heigl on the set of his video for "Only You." "At the end of the shoot, I said, 'You're gonna eat with us, and you can't say no,'" said Kelley, 26. He made another offer she couldn't refuse when he recently proposed. (No wedding date has been set.) Still, it's Kelley's subtler side that helped win Heigl, 27. When he wrote "Katie's Song" for her, "it was one of the most thrilling things," she said. "It makes me really like him bad."
