Behind the Seams
WISHFUL THINKING: It's not exactly an engagement ring, but in young Hollywood circles, it may be the next best thing: Mischa Barton's beau Cisco Adler recently gave his ladylove a gold wishbone necklace by designer Jennifer Meyer. Barton rarely takes off the trinket, even leaving it on during her ill-fated O.C. character's final scene. What's that old saying again? Lucky in love, unlucky in soapy TV plot twists? ...
Jennifer Meyer wishbone necklace, $700; available at Barneys New York, 888-8-BARNEYS.
L.A.M.B. SHOP: The latest addition to Gwen Stefani's empire isn't son Kingston: The star is launching a 28-piece L.A.M.B. watch collection this month. Some watch styles match her seasonal clothing line; others are intended to be classic signature pieces. "I love my new L.A.M.B. watches," says Stefani. "It's suddenly become very important that I always have a watch on because I need to know when I have to feed my baby." Wonder if the watches have a glow-in-the-dark feature for those midnight feedings ...
L.A.M.B. black-and-gold enamel bracelet watch, $475 (left), and braided enamel bangle watch, $395; available at nordstrom.com.
LORD OF THE RINGS: Someone was a busy little bee during his Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest downtime: Makeup artist Joel Harlow created a silver pirate ring for himself to commemorate the movie. Soon stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley—who spotted the bauble during their off-screen touch-ups—were clamoring for the jewelry. The ring became so popular among cast and crew that Harlow created a 14-piece Pirates collection for Disney Couture. Jack Sparrow's metal man barrettes not included.
Disney Couture's Pirates of the Caribbean ring, $225, and necklace, $300; Fred Segal Tiara, 310-394-8186.
CLAIM TO FAME: Hairstylist and creator of a cult fave hair-care line CELEB FANS: Eva Mendes, Heather Graham
Hair guru Hammadi works with so many stars—Julianne Moore, Kirsten Dunst, Naomi Watts—that he describes his organic, essential-oil-infused products as "tested on actresses, never on animals." The impetus for creating his own? "I couldn't find products rich enough for my clients' overworked hair," he says. Like the L.A.-born stylist, the line is a Hollywood hit: Drew Barrymore (who works with Hammadi on the set of her upcoming film Music and Lyrics By) swears it "single-handedly brought my hair back to life."
Hamadi Beauty: hair washes, $18-27; conditioners, $23-38; and stylers, $22-38; available at hamadibeauty.com

Behind the scenes at Pat Benatar and Cheyenne's '80s-themed Candie's ads
When the former MTV rock legend teamed up with the current MTV teen queen to film Candie's 25th-anniversary ad campaign, there was a bit of sartorial educating going on: "I thought that these clothes"—the skinny jeans, lace leggings and tight tanks featured in the commercial and print ads debuting in mid-July—"were new fads," says the 15-year-old. "Then Pat showed me her old album covers, and I thought, wow, she's done it all." Adds Benatar: "It just makes me smile. Everything always comes back around."
"The clothes are accessible and affordable," says Benatar. "Most of the things I wore in the original days were from thrift stores."
Available at all Kohl's stores and candies.com mid-July.
