Gwen Stefani's Do-It-Yourself Approach to Fashion
Long before she had her own fashion label, L.A.M.B., Gwen Stefani was stitching, sewing, trimming and gluing her own intriguing performance costumes together for her band No Doubt.

In a video shot in 1991 and posted on TMZ.com, a 20-year-old Stefani shows off a black-and-white-striped jail costume, which needs some attention from an electric hot-glue gun. If she doesn't make it big as a rock star, she tells the camera, "My backup plan is being an interior designer or some type of designer. Maybe even a fashion designer!"

In the end, of course, she didn't have to choose one or the other. And judging by the L.A.M.B. homepage – not to mention her getup at a concert last month (pictured) – she's still into the black-and-white stripes.
