What brought Adrien Brody out to the opening of a new Chopard store on New York's Madison Avenue Monday night? "Well, they invited us," he matter-of-factly told reporters. "And she looks beautiful."

The "she" in question is his date for the evening, girlfriend Elsa Pataky. (The Spanish actress is best known in the states for her role opposite Samuel L. Jackson in Snakes on a Plane).

And despite all the beautiful baubles on display, none could eclipse a certain jewelry purchase in Prague. "We found this really beautiful pair of rings," Brody said at the event, which also drew Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rachel Weisz and Elizabeth Hurley. "We have them, and they're ours, and they're pretty special."

Are they engagement rings? Or, perhaps, promise rings? "No, we keep [those things] secret," says Pataky. "It's just a memento for us. Very private."

Still, Pataky adds, marriage is a possibility – someday. "You never know, you never know," she says. "Hopefully."

For now, the Queens-born Brody is just enjoying spending time Manhattan with his leading lady. "[There's] so much to do, so little time," he says. "I like walking around, being a part of it all."
