Hunter Tylo is no stranger to hardship – her 9-year-old daughter bravely battled eye cancer as an infant. But nothing could prepare her for the shock and grief that came with losing her 19-year-old son last month.

"I thought the worst thing in life was having a sick child," the Bold and the Beautiful star told Larry King Live Monday night. "But, there's really nothing more painful than losing a child."

Michael (Mickey) Edward Tylo II, who died in a drowning accident at the family home in Henderson, Nev., contended with "complex partial seizures" since he was 15, his mom said.

And on Oct. 18, Tylo got the phone call every parent fears. "My oldest son Chris called and said 'Mom are you sitting down?'" recalled the long-time soap star. "And there's this hot rush of blood that envelops your face and your chest and you begin to know that there's something terribly wrong."

Chris continued, "I found Mike in the pool. He's dead."

"If I didn't have my faith I wouldn't be able to handle it," said Tylo, a devout Christian. Addressing a viewer's concern that she might not return to The Bold and the Beautiful, she added, "I use my pain to work. I don't think Mike would want me to not be acting."
