Daddy-to-be Madden has already started the child's musical education, while his brother Benji claims the sports role.
"We play a lot of music around the house," Madden, 28, told PEOPLE at Mets star David Wright's Do the Wright Thing Gala in New York Thursday. "Old stuff, new stuff, classic stuff, movie soundtracks."
Of Richie, 26, who is due in January, he added: "We're excited, happy and spending a lot of time at home. ... Just normal, couple-expecting-a-baby stuff."
Joel's brother and Good Charlotte bandmate is equally psyched for his new role in the family: Uncle. "I'm going to teach [the baby] about life," he said. And sports. "I could coach the tee-ball team! Or teach them in soccer, whatever they want to do," he said.
